A pact is a formal agreement, usually between two or more nations. This is not to be confused with an "agreeance" which is not an actual word, despite other evidence on the Internet to the contrary, and in fact, the most recent edition of the Oxford English Dictionary has stripped "agreeance" from its rank as a word as of this year, though their website has yet to be updated and still includes it.
